A client recently approached Floorcare USA with a huge concrete flooring problem.
The concrete slab in their newly installed facility wasn’t pitched to allow for the drainage required in their room and to make matters even more challenging, the floor is an elevated slab of concrete.
Tearing out the concrete and pouring a new slab would be: costly, time consuming, messy and virtually impossible due to it being an elevated slab.
The client turned to Floorcare USA for a solution.
Floorcare worked with the client to have the drains set to proper depth.
Then Floorcare carefully layed out a grid pattern to promote proper pitch and utilized Trowelable Epoxy Mortar System to resurface the concrete and promote pitch.
In the attached pictures you can step by step how this process took place.
The epoxy troweled mortar system was placed in a manner to promote at a minimum of 1/16th of an inch pitch per 1 foot.
The epoxy troweled mortar resurfacing system was then prepped and smoothed out and received an epoxy grout coat application.
The epoxy troweled mortar grout coat was then sanded and smoothed out for a consistent finish and was top-coated with High Traffic System Urethane.
The client now has an epoxy mortar resurfaced concrete slab with proper pitch that is:
